The City of Petaluma Economic Development and Redevelopment Department has recently been awarded two grants from the U.S. EPA for environmental assessments of Brownfields properties within the City where the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. The Petaluma Brownfields project provides an exciting opportunity to “jump start” additional redevelopment in Petaluma’s core areas.
